A leaked US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) document reveals that over 5,000 undocumented Jamaicans have received final orders for removal from the United States.
The list, circulating on social media, details the number of non-citizens with outstanding deportation orders across various countries. As of November 24, 2024, over 1.4 million individuals face removal, with Jamaica ranking among the highest in the Caribbean.
Attorney-at-law Wayne Golding confirmed the document’s authenticity, urging documented Jamaicans to carry proper identification at all times.
Cuba has the highest number of removal orders in the region with over 42,000, followed by Haiti with more than 32,000. Other Caribbean nations with significant numbers include Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Guyana.
This revelation comes amidst intensified immigration enforcement under the Trump administration, raising concerns for undocumented Jamaican nationals residing in the United States.
