Georgetown, Guyana – Police have confirmed that one individual has been arrested in connection with the late-night gun attack on popular entertainment figure and social media personality, Lolita Callendar, otherwise called “Lola Doll.”
Reports reaching McKoy’s News are that the arrest was made early Sunday, and the suspect is presently in custody assisting investigators.
The 33-year-old artiste was shot multiple times on Saturday night outside her residence at Texas Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Initial police reports state that Lola Doll sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands, and right leg, after she was ambushed by a man who rode up on a motorcycle while she sat inside her motorcar.
She was quickly rushed to the hospital, where doctors have since confirmed that her condition is stable. Sources further disclosed that none of the bullets damaged her vital organs, but the entertainer is expected to undergo a series of medical tests before surgery is performed.
Lola Doll, who is well known for her controversial music, lavish lifestyle, and outspoken social media presence, has carved out a huge following both locally and overseas.
Police have not yet released a motive for the brazen attack, but investigations are ongoing
