Notorious Gunman Killed by His Own Cronies Following Truck Robbery in Montego Bay

St. James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The tables have turned for a Westmoreland gangster who once stood accused of murder — now himself the victim of a deadly betrayal.

Kimarly Williams, otherwise known as “Duppy,” “Strap Don,” or “Neko,” was found beaten and left for dead in Montego Bay on the night of Tuesday, August 19. The 25-year-old, originally from Lovelane in Negril, had relocated to Serenity Drive in Rose Heights, St. James, after receiving bail in a high-profile murder case.

Williams was one of two men charged for the March 2022 killing of Jarren “Snakeman” Murphy, a 29-year-old caretaker from Sea Star Lane, West End, Negril. Murphy, originally from St. Catherine, was shot execution-style at the back of the property he was guarding.

The killers — reportedly Duppy and another young man, Ethan Slater — were arrested during a police operation shortly after the murder. Duppy was later granted bail under strict conditions that he not return to Westmoreland except for court appearances. He told the court he would reside in St. James.

However, instead of staying out of trouble, Duppy allegedly became involved with a St. James-based gang engaged in robberies, shootings, and extortion.

Robbery Turned Set-Up

On the night of his death, Duppy was reportedly part of a gang that robbed a delivery truck driver at a Top Road stoplight in Montego Bay. Riding pillion on a motorcycle, Duppy approached the truck, held the driver at gunpoint, and took a large sum of cash.

But as he tried to flee the scene, one of his own alleged accomplices — driving a Toyota Axio — deliberately ran him over. Gang members then took his illegal firearm and the stolen money, dragged him into bushes, and viciously beat him before covering his body with shrubs.

Though gravely wounded, Duppy managed to crawl out to the roadside, where he was later found by police. He was transported to Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

He was reportedly dressed in multiple layers of clothing, gloves, and a hoodie — possibly in an effort to conceal his identity during the robbery
