KINGSTON, Jamaica – The operators of Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA), PAC Kingston Airport Limited (PACKAL), have announced that operations at the facility will be suspended from 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 9, until 4:00 am Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
According to PACKAL, the temporary suspension is necessary to facilitate critical electrical infrastructure upgrades at the airport.
The company stressed that safety and security systems will remain fully operational during the downtime and assured the public that passenger travel will not be affected, as no flights are scheduled within the upgrade period.
“Travellers are, however, encouraged to check with their airlines for any possible adjustments to flights outside of the scheduled upgrade window,” the release noted.
PACKAL further highlighted that the project forms part of its ongoing commitment to modernize and strengthen NMIA, ensuring it remains a safe and reliable gateway for Jamaica.
