Manchester, Jamaica – A man wanted in connection with multiple murders, including the high-profile killing of TikTok influencer Xavier “Niah Gang” Fogah, was fatally shot during a police operation in Downs, Manchester, on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Romaine Thompson, also known as ‘Rum Stain’.
Wanted for Multiple Murders
Thompson was a suspect in the December 7, 2024, murder of TikTok influencer Xavier Fogah, also called ‘Niah Gang’, who was killed while livestreaming on Panton Lane in St. Catherine.
Additionally, police linked Thompson to the August 5, 2023, murder of Constable Justin Martin, who was gunned down at a bar in Sandy Bay, Clarendon. Authorities also suspect his involvement in other criminal activities in St. Catherine.
Fatal Confrontation with Police
According to a police report, officers launched an operation in Downs district around 4:10 a.m. in search of Thompson. During the operation, he allegedly engaged law enforcement in a gunfight, resulting in minor injuries to an officer, who was saved by his bulletproof vest.
Police returned fire, hitting Thompson. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Law enforcement also reported seizing a firearm at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities continue their crackdown on criminal elements linked to violent crimes across the island.
