Murder Weapon in Claremont Dispute Found; Shooter in Custody

The Hanover police have recovered an illegal firearm, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting death of a man during a dispute in Claremont on Monday night.

According to reports, around 3:00 PM on Tuesday, the police conducted a search of an abandoned building in Claremont. The search led to the discovery of a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing six live 9mm rounds.

The weapon is allegedly the same one used in the murder of 46-year-old Bruce Palmer, also known as ‘Palmer,’ who was shot and killed in Claremont district on Monday.

Reports indicate that around 9:00 PM, Palmer went to a section of the Claremont community and was mocking another man known as ‘Zuggo.’ After a disrespectful remark from ‘Zuggo,’ Palmer became angry and left the location, only to return later with a knife and a gun.

Palmer attempted to stab ‘Zuggo’ with the knife, but ‘Zuggo’ managed to grab the illegal gun from Palmer’s waist and opened fire, hitting him once. ‘Zuggo’ then dropped the gun and fled the scene. Palmer was rushed to the hospital but died while being treated.

The police were informed of the incident, and following an investigation, they were handed the illegal firearm and the knife. ‘Zuggo’ later turned himself in to the authorities.
