The St Ann police have launched a manhunt to apprehend a group of men who carried out a multi-million dollar robbery at Dwayne’s Tavern, located in Bamboo district, St Ann, over the weekend.
Reports indicate that shortly after 9:00 PM last Thursday, the operators securely closed the establishment and went home.
On Friday morning, it was discovered that robbers had gained entry to the establishment and stolen a quantity of cigarettes valued at over $500,000, four cases of white rum valued at over $150,000, and nine gaming boxes valued at over $4 million, containing an undetermined sum of cash.
The police were called in and, upon arrival in the area, saw a man running with one of the gaming boxes. The robber dropped the machine and fled, making his escape in the area.
An investigation is underway, and the robbers are currently being sought.
