The St James police are reporting that a man who was released from custody few days ago on suspicion for murder, is once again in police custody after he was caught in possession of an illegal firearm in downtown Montego Bay, on Friday evening, June 22.
The identity of the accused who hails from Mount Salem community in the parish, is being withheld pending further investigation.
Reports are that about 4:00pm, on Friday a team of police were on patrol along Strand Street in downtown Montego Bay, when they saw the accused who was acting in a suspicious manner.
He was accosted and searched, and found in possession of a 9mm semiautomatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing several 9mm rounds.
Investigators say, the accused man was being sought on suspicions to murder earlier this month, was later taken into custody and released a few days ago, after no one came forward to give statements.
