ST CATHERINE – A motorist lost his life on Saturday night after his vehicle crashed into a median along the PJ Patterson Highway in St Catherine. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Anthony Patrick Palmer, a mechanic from Longville Park in Clarendon.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. near the Vineyards toll booth. Palmer was traveling along the highway when he lost control of his vehicle, which then slammed into the median. The impact of the crash caused extensive damage to the vehicle and left Palmer with severe injuries.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, Palmer succumbed to his injuries. The Highway Patrol Division has since launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
Authorities continue to urge motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits while using the nation’s roadways. Investigators are working to establish whether speed, road conditions, or other factors contributed to the deadly accident.
