An unidentified man was shot and killed by a licensed firearm holder, and his pillion taken into custody by the St Andrew police, after they attempted to carry out a robbery at a section of Heavendale on Thursday afternoon, February 28.

Reports are that shortly after 4:30 p.m., the licensed firearm holder was driving along a section of Heavendale main road when he saw the unidentified motorcyclist and pillion in the process of robbing an old lady.

Further reports are that the licensed firearm holder used his vehicle to hit both men from the motorcycle, but the rider got up and advanced at him with a weapon.

The licensed firearm holder pulled his licensed firearm and opened fire hitting the armed man to his upper body and he fell to the ground.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the pillion was taken into custody, and the motorcycle rider was later transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
