ST JAMES, Jamaica – Police in St James have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a motorcyclist who succumbed to injuries after falling from his bike on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old Vidmir Lewis, otherwise known as ‘Juggist,’ of Goodwill in St James.
According to reports from the Adelphi Police, the incident occurred at approximately 9:03 a.m. while Lewis was traveling along the main road. It is alleged that he became entangled in wires hanging from a utility pole, causing him to lose control and fall from his motorcycle. The impact left him unconscious.
Lewis was quickly assisted and transported to the hospital; however, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have since launched an investigation into the matter to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether negligence played a role.
Residents have expressed concerns about the dangers of low-hanging wires in the area, calling for urgent intervention from the relevant authorities to prevent similar incidents.
The police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward as investigations continue.
