Two Killed in Westmoreland Crash: A 28-year-old motorcyclist and his 29-year-old pillion, lost their lives in a tragic motor vehicle accident in Cave community, Westmoreland.
The deceased have been identified as Calvin Palmer and Adrian Tomlinson, both residents of Grange Hill in the parish of Westmoreland.
According to police reports, the accident occurred around 12:35 pm when Palmer was driving a Cobra motorcycle with Tomlinson as his passenger. They were traveling from Whitehouse towards Savanna La Mar.
As they reached a section of Cave main road, they were following closely behind a Honda motor car that attempted to overtake a line of vehicles. However, the driver had to brake suddenly upon seeing another car approaching from the opposite direction.
This sudden braking caused Palmer to lose control, resulting in a collision with the rear of the Honda motor car. Both Palmer and Tomlinson were thrown from the motorcycle into the path of an oncoming motor truck.
As a result of the accident, both men sustained severe head and body injuries. They were rushed to the Savanna La Mar Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
