Queens, New York — A 34-year-old mother of three has been identified as the victim in a gruesome homicide case in New York City after authorities say her dismembered remains were discovered in multiple locations across Queens.
Police identified the victim as Salisha Ali, a Trinidad and Tobago native who had been living in Queens. According to investigators, Ali was reported missing in July 2025 after family members lost contact with her.
The case took a disturbing turn in September 2025 when sanitation workers discovered a decomposed torso wrapped in a blanket inside a garbage bag near John F. Kennedy International Airport. Months later, in March 2026, additional human remains — including a head and other body parts — were recovered in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
Authorities say forensic analysis and distinctive tattoos helped confirm that the remains belonged to Ali.
Prosecutors allege that Ali’s husband, Rupchand Simboo, 75, is responsible for the killing. Investigators say phone tracking data and other evidence placed Simboo at locations where the remains were later found. Officials also believe sharp tools were used to dismember the body after the killing.
Simb oo was arrested and charged with murder, concealment of a human corpse, and related offenses. He is currently awaiting court proceedings.
Family members have described Ali as a devoted mother whose death has left loved ones devastated. The three children she leaves behind are reportedly being cared for by relatives.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to piece together the events leading up to Ali’s death.
Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact the New York Police Department.
