Mother and Daughter Fatally Shot at Compton Traffic Light; Manhunt Underway

COMPTON, CA – A mother and her young daughter were tragically killed in a drive-by shooting at a traffic light in Compton on Tuesday evening. La’von Hall and her daughter, Ma’Laysia Martin, were fatally shot when a suspect, identified as Reginald Brown, allegedly opened fire on their vehicle.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 7:00 PM. Brown reportedly drove alongside Hall’s vehicle as it was stopped at a traffic light and fired multiple shots.

After being shot, Hall exited the driver’s seat and collapsed on the ground. The vehicle continued moving and collided with a pole.

First responders arriving at the scene found Hall deceased on the ground and Martin dead in the passenger seat. Both mother and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s department has identified Reginald Brown as the primary suspect in the double homicide. “Detectives have exhausted all leads” in their search for Brown and are now appealing to the public for assistance in locating him.
