Two Dead Following Accident on Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway

Kingston, Jamaica — A man and a woman have died after being struck by a motorist along the Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway in Kingston early this morning.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a male driver, traveling towards Harbour View, lost control of his vehicle, hitting the two pedestrians before overturning on the roadway.

Emergency services responded, but both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken into custody and subjected to a breathalyser test, which returned a negative result. However, he is expected to face charges of manslaughter.

Authorities have also confirmed that the driver was previously charged for breaches of the Road Traffic Act. Further investigations are underway.
