Jamaica News, March 9, 2018 – Rose Hall Motor Vehicle Accident
Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Coral Gardens police have confirmed that two persons have been killed following their involvements in a four-vehicle accident, which occurred along a section of the Rose Hall main road in Montego Bay, St James on Thursday night, March 8.
Five other persons were also admitted to hospital in serious condition.
The police say they are unable to release the names of the victims at this time.
Reports are that shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, the two victims were traveling in a blue Honda Civic motor car from the directions of Falmouth, towards Downtown Montego Bay.
The police confirmed that two Honda EG motor car were in a race from the directions of Falmouth, one Honda driver lost control and crashed into the utility pole which resulted in the other also crashing.
One of the Honda collided into the minibus and tore off the front section of the bus, including one of its wheels and it overturned.
A fourth vehicle which is also said to be a Honda motor car also crashed into both crashed car. Both the driver and the passenger who were travelling in the Honda motor car died on the spot.
The police say it is very puzzling, considering that all the vehicles in the crash are all Hondas.
The drivers of the two other ill-fated vehicles along with three passengers, received serious injuries and were rushed to the Cornwall Regional hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
Two units from the Rosehall Fire Department, an ambulance, a wrecker and the Coral Gardens police were summoned to the scene.
It took the police and the firemen over two hours to clear the debris from the roadway, this resulted in a major traffic pile-up, which stretched for miles on both sides of the roadway.
