Montego Bay, Jamaica – The Montego Bay Jerk & Food Festival, renowned for its celebration of Jamaican flavors and cultural vibrancy, launched its 15th anniversary festivities with a vibrant media event at the Holiday Inn Resort in Rosehall, Montego Bay.
The occasion began with a profound gesture of community support as the Montego Bay Jerk & Food Festival Foundation awarded $375,000 in scholarships to 15 deserving students from local schools including Greenpond Primary, Albion Primary, Glendevon Primary, Farm Primary & Infant School, and Salt Spring Primary and Infant School. This initiative underscores the festival’s commitment to education and empowering the youth, ensuring a brighter future for Montego Bay’s next generation.

Mr. John Lindo, Festival Producer, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the community’s steadfast support over the festival’s 15-year journey. “Our commitment to the youth is unwavering. By investing in their education, we invest in the future of our community. I extend sincere thanks to Montego Bay and beyond for making this festival a resounding success.”
Highlighting the launch was a captivating performance by a dance troupe from Glendevon Primary, showcasing Montego Bay’s rich talent and creativity.

Scheduled for August 1, 2024, at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre, this year’s festival promises an extraordinary celebration of Jamaica’s culinary delights, music, and cultural heritage.
