Man Who Hit Police Officer with Motorcycle in Granville, St James, Has Been Caught

A St James mechanic who reportedly hit a policeman with his motorcycle and fled the scene minutes after being signaled to stop at a Vehicle Spot Check in Granville, St James, on May 27, has been apprehended by the police.

The accused, identified as 20-year-old Gevaughn Ferguson, also known as ‘Deno’, a mechanic from Williamsfield district in Hopeton, St James, has been charged with Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.

Reports state that around 6:26 pm, Ferguson was driving a white 2008 Toyota Hiace minibus along Gut Bottom district in Granville when he was signaled to stop by the police.

Ferguson disobeyed and attempted to speed away but ended up knocking the officer from his motorcycle. He then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Ferguson later turned himself in to the police and was subsequently charged.
