Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: Members of the Joint Military forces in Westmoreland on Thursday afternoon, seized two Molotov Cocktails Bombs in the Savanna-la-mar area, which are believed to have been linked to the firebombing of a motor vehicle, three houses and a shop in the Grange Hill community on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
The bombs were seized along with an AK-47 assault rifle loaded with a magazine containing seven 7.56 rounds.
The police say they believe that several gang members operating out of the Savanna-la-mar Township, have joined forces with other gang members in the Grange Hill area and carried out these bombings earlier this week.
Reports are that between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., the joint forces carried out several operations in and around Savanna-la-mar. During the operation, several buildings were searched,, during what time the two Cocktail bombs were seized along with the assault rifle.
On investigator also pointed out that, following the murders of seven persons in Grange Hill area on Tuesday and the shooting and wounding of six others, a number of these gunmen have fled the area and has been hiding in several of these volatile communities within Savanna-la-mar.
