St. James Jamaica (McN) – Mayor of Montego Bay, Hon. Homer Davis unveiled plans to rename Gloucester Avenue, known as “the Hip Strip,” Jimmy Cliff Boulevard.
Speaking at the IRIE FM ceremony honoring Dr. James Chambers, known as Jimmy Cliff with a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to the entertainment industry, Montego Bay’s Mayor announced that steps are being taken to name the Montego Bay Hip Strip, Jimmy Cliff Boulevard.
“You can rest assured there wont be any obstacles to see this a reality,” boast Mayor Davis.
The ceremony was held at Jimmy Cliff’s childhood school, Somerton All-Age School in James.
