Men Held with Illegal Firearm in Catadupa, St James

The St James police has taken two men into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition, in Catadupa district on Saturday, June 10.

The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigation.

Reports from the Cambridge police are that about 10:30pm, lawmen were on a spot check at a section of Catadupa called Stephen Edge.

The lawmen signaled two men on a motorcycle to pull over, but they refused and sped away.

The police gave chase and the motorcycle driver lost control, causing it to overturn.

Both men were taken into custody, and a search of their person led to the seizure of a Taurus 9mm pistol, fitted with a magazine containing sixteen 9mm rounds of ammunition.
