Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Men Facing Murder Charges of Shineka Gray Remanded: The two accused Mario Morrison and his crony Gregory Roberts who were charged with the murder of 15-year-old Green Pond High School student, Shineka Gray earlier this year, were remanded in custody when they appeared in the St James Parish Court on Thursday, June 29th.
Morrison and Roberts were remanded in custody until July 20, 2017, despite bail applications from their respective lawyers.
The prosecuting team told the presiding judge that the investigators are still carrying out investigations and a case file is still not completed.
Both men were taken into custody earlier this year following the disappearance of the teenage student who had gone to a funeral service held for one of her friends.
Her body was later discovered with multiple stab wounds at a section of the Meadows of Irwin.
The Freeport police carried out a swift investigation which led to both men being arrested.
During the investigation, Morrison was reportedly found in possession of a cell phone belonging to the murdered student.
Both accused are also said to be facing other criminal charges in court including murder.
Meanwhile, family and friends of the slain girl who gathered outside the St James Parish Court on Thursday, told our news team that they are demanding more speedy results in the trial of the case and also they want both men to suffer the full penalty of the law.
