Jamaica Sports News, Montego: Manoj Ramchandani Secures Two Wins – Manoj Ramchandani, owner and operator of Dream Auto car dealership in Montego Bay, ventured into circuit racing on August 4th, 2019, with his first ever race at Dover Raceway in St. Ann. Driving a Startec sponsored 2004 Honda Civic, Manoj managed to secure one second-place trophy and two first-place trophies in the Super Street Naturally Aspirated class.
When asked about his debut experience, Manoj responded, “I have been a fan of motor cars and motor racing ever since I have known myself, which is even what led me to be in the Motor Vehicle Industry. I never thought of venturing into circuit racing, having always been a fan of rallying, which is a different form of motorsports. However, circuit racing is a lot more popular in Jamaica, and has in my opinion, less of a barrier to entry. I have also ensured to be a student and observer of race driving technique over the years, knowing one day I would like to venture into professional motor racing. I also wish to thank our current sponsors Startec Air Conditioners for their support.”
Manoj managed to secure his wins with the car in stock (original) form, and his future plans are to develop the car to be able to set faster times which would be more competitive in other classes in the future. He currently looks forward to the next race at Dover on Heroes Weekend, which he knows will be a lot more competitive.
