MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Detectives in Manchester are investigating the shooting death of a man in Asia, south Manchester.
The victim has been identified by residents as Donald Anderson, a resident of the community.
Preliminary reports are that residents heard loud explosions late Sunday night. When checks were made at Anderson’s home on Monday morning, he was found dead with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
The circumstances surrounding the killing are unclear at this time. Detectives are processing the scene and working to establish a motive and identify those responsible.
The killing comes as Manchester continues to record an increase in murders.
Police statistics show that 23 murders had been recorded in the parish up to August 29, 2026, compared with 19 during the corresponding period last year.
