Trelawny, Jamaica — Police are searching for a man identified as Kemar Sergio Foster, also known as “Jackie”, following the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man in Falmouth Gardens, Trelawny, on Saturday, May 3.
The deceased has been identified as Mikail Robinson, a tiler from Bobman Hill in the Lilliput area of St. James.
According to police reports, the incident stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Foster and Robinson. Robinson was reportedly involved in a relationship with Foster’s sister — a situation that Foster strongly opposed. The disagreement is believed to have caused frequent arguments between the two men in the past.
On the day of the incident, Robinson was at a friend’s yard in Falmouth Gardens, helping with landscaping, when Foster arrived and an argument erupted. Witnesses say that after a heated verbal exchange, Foster left the scene, only to return shortly afterward armed with a 9mm pistol.
He allegedly opened fire on Robinson, shooting him multiple times in the face and upper body. The victim died on the spot. Police recovered four 9mm spent shells from the crime scene.
Foster, a 37-year-old maintenance worker previously convicted for a shooting incident in 2014, had recently been released from prison. Although he was reportedly employed at a hotel in St. James, police say his name continued to surface relating to criminal activity in the parish.
In the aftermath of the shooting, Foster reportedly contacted a Justice of the Peace expressing his intention to surrender to authorities, though as of press time, it is unclear whether he has done so.
Police are urging Foster to turn himself in and are appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Crime Stop at 311 or the nearest police station.
