Man Taken into Custody in Connection with Firearm Seizure in Kingston has been Charged

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Kingston police have confirmed that a man who was taken into custody in connection with the seizure of a semi-automatic pistol on Tuesday morning, July 17, has now been officially charged.

The police further stated that the accused was charged on Wednesday morning with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition. They further stated that, they are not prepared to release his identity at this time, because he may have to face a series of identification parades.

Reports by the police are that about 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a team of officers carried out an operation along Arnold Avenue.

During the operation, a house occupied by the accused was searched and the weapon, a  KEL-TEC  P-32 Pistol was discovered concealed in a clothes basket in a room of a house.
