One man was shot and killed in Grange Pen, Lilliput in St James, on Sunday, October 10, while a female was shot and injured.
Investigators have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
Reports are that, two men armed with handguns entered a premises in the community on Sunday night, and opened fire hitting one man.
The gunmen then went to an adjoining premises and attacked two female who were sitting in the yard. The women ran, but they were chased by the gunmen who opened fire hitting one of the females.
After the gunmen left the community, the police were summoned, and upon their arrival, the wounded victims were rushed to the Falmouth hospital in Trelawny, where the male victim was pronounced dead, and the female treated and admitted in critical condition.
The police have since launched an investigation into the shooting.
