Maggotty, St. Elizabeth – A man, identified only as “Aggery,” was shot and killed in a supermarket robbery in Maggotty, St. Elizabeth on Saturday.
The shooting occurred inside a Chinese-owned supermarket when gunmen entered the establishment and began a robbery.
According to preliminary reports, Aggery, a licensed firearm holder, was inside the supermarket during the heist. It is alleged that he attempted to conceal his weapon but was spotted by the assailants, who opened fire on him. Aggery was hit and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The robbers reportedly escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash and Aggery’s licensed firearm.
The police are currently investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information about the crime to come forward.
