St Catherine, Jamaica – A man who had been evading the police for more than five years has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of another man during a community dispute in Springvale, Bog Walk.
Junior Brown, also known as “Shakka” and “Junior,” has been charged with the murder of 40-year-old Kenneth “Duddus” Hyde.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on April 15, 2020, when Brown and Hyde became involved in a dispute. Brown’s girlfriend, known locally as “Queen B,” reportedly intervened, and a knife was used to inflict wounds to Hyde’s upper body.
Brown and his girlfriend fled the scene. Police from the Bog Walk division responded and found Hyde motionless in a pool of blood. He was transported to Linstead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, police made several attempts to locate Brown and his girlfriend, ultimately listing both as wanted.
After years on the run, Brown voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Wednesday, October 1, accompanied by an attorney. He was arrested and charged, and is scheduled to appear in St Catherine Parish Court on October 7.
His girlfriend remains at large, and police continue to seek her whereabouts.
