Man Killed in Highway 2000 Crash; Son Survives

CLARENDON, Jamaica — A man has died following a two-vehicle collision along the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000 on Thursday morning.

Police have not yet released the identity of the deceased, who was reportedly a passenger in a Toyota Premio motor car involved in the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that the car was travelling eastbound when the driver lost control and slammed into the rear of a truck.

The fatal crash occurred between the Toll Gate toll booth and the May Pen interchange.

The deceased is believed to be the father of the driver, who survived the crash and is currently receiving medical treatment. According to police, the driver will be questioned once he is medically cleared.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
