The Bluefields police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in the community on Friday.
The accused, 28-year-old Trevoy Cole of Red Gate, also in Bluefields, has been charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition.
Reports are that at about 9:00 p.m., a team of officers carried out an operation at a bar in the area.
During the operation, Cole, who was seen at the bar, was searched, and a Glock pistol fitted with a magazine containing nine live 9mm rounds was found.
Cole was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
