A man was discovered dead on a school compound in St Mary on Tuesday morning, leading to the school’s closure for the day.
The St Mary Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, which occurred in Galina, near Port Maria.
Reports indicate that around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, February 10, the school’s watchman observed a man who had entered the auditorium and gone to sleep.
At approximately 5:50 a.m. the following morning, while opening the school, the watchman attempted to wake the man but received no response. Upon entering the auditorium, the watchman found the man lying motionless on a mattress with what appeared to be blood above his right eye.
The police were immediately alerted, and an investigation is now underway to determine the cause of death.
