Montego Bay, St James (McKoy’s News) – A night of entertainment at Reggae Sumfest ended in court for Davian Crooks, who was fined $50,000 after being caught with a police officer’s phone following a stampede.
The incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. on July 19, when a deputy superintendent’s Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was lost in the crowd surge. Despite searches, the phone wasn’t recovered at the venue.
Police later tracked it to Lightbody Avenue, where it was found in Crooks’ possession. He admitted to taking it after the incident.
Crooks was charged with larceny by finding and sentenced in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday.
