New Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Tragedy struck the Gallery Apartment complex on Thursday morning when a fire reportedly claimed the life of 74-year-old resident in his sixth-floor penthouse.
The blaze, which erupted just after 3 a.m., caused damage to several apartments in the building. Firefighters from the Jamaica Fire Brigade rushed two units to the scene to battle the inferno.
Authorities say the fire started in the deceased man’s apartment. Both police and fire officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
