St. Elizabeth, Jamaica – A heated dispute in North Hampton, St. Elizabeth, on Wednesday night ended in tragedy when a 40-year-old man was chopped to death. The victim, identified as Damion Wright, a construction worker from North Hampton district, succumbed to his injuries after an altercation with another local construction worker.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Wright reportedly walked to the home of 41-year-old Kemon Brooks and began throwing stones at the house. The confrontation quickly escalated, leading to an argument between the two men. In the heat of the moment, Brooks allegedly attacked Wright with a machete, inflicting multiple severe wounds to his upper body.
Emergency services rushed Wright to Mandeville Hospital, but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Following an investigation by the police, Brooks was arrested and charged with murder. The community of North Hampton remains in shock over the violent incident, which highlights the severe consequences of escalating conflicts. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the dispute to ensure justice is served.
