ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A Kingston labourer has been charged with robbery with aggravation following a daring daytime robbery in which a boy was reportedly held at gunpoint and robbed of his iPhone 11 in Spanish Town on Saturday.
Jevon Richards, 27, was arrested and charged after the incident, which occurred about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Burke and Port Henderson Roads.
Reports from the Spanish Town Police indicate that the victim was walking when Richards and another man approached him, initiated a conversation, then allegedly pulled a firearm and demanded his belongings. The frightened teen complied, handing over his smartphone, valued at J$48,000.
Following investigations, Richards was arrested and later positively identified in an identification parade. His court date is yet to be finalized.
Police say the second suspect is still at large and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
