The St Andrew police have apprehended and charged a man involved in a shooting incident where he was injured by a licensed firearm holder, whom he had also wounded during a confrontation in Constitution Hill, St Andrew, last Monday.
Patrick Webber, 52 years old, faces charges of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Using a Firearm to Commit a Felony, and Wounding With Intent.
According to reports from Half Way Tree police, the altercation occurred around 10:00 a.m. when Webber and the licensed firearm holder engaged in an argument at a location in Constitution Hill. Allegedly, Webber produced an illegal firearm and fired at the licensed firearm holder, injuring him. The licensed firearm holder responded by returning fire, injuring Webber in the process.
Both men sought medical treatment at a hospital following the altercation. Subsequently, Webber was arrested and formally charged by St Andrew police.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing as authorities gather more information surrounding the confrontation.
