It is alleged that Croddock went on the boat and was behaving in an intoxicated manner. He then took up a machete and uttered threats to persons who were there putting them in fear. The co-owner of the beach tried to calm him down but Croddock advanced towards him with the machete putting him in fear. The businessman had to take evasive action by shooting him in the leg.
The matter was reported to the police and Croddock was arrested and charged.
During Wednesday’s sitting, it was disclosed that Croddock was without an attorney, and he was instructed to visit the legal aid officer with a view to having an attorney assigned to him.
The matter was set for further mention on July 4 and Croddock’s bail was extended.
