St. Andrew, Jamaica — A man was arrested on Wednesday following the seizure of a firearm during a police operation on Seivwright Drive in St. Andrew.
According to reports, around 4 p.m., officers on patrol noticed a man acting suspiciously. When approached, the man attempted to flee but was quickly intercepted by the police after a brief chase. A subsequent search of the bag he was carrying allegedly revealed a .38 Taurus revolver, along with eight .38 rounds and one .56 round of ammunition.
The man was arrested at the scene and is currently being questioned as investigations continue. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect. This operation is part of ongoing efforts by the police to curb illegal firearm possession in the area.
