Maintenance Worker Shot and Killed on Mountain View Avenue

Kingston, Jamaica – A 40-year-old maintenance worker was shot and killed in a brazen midday attack along Mountain View Avenue on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Robert Williams of Hamstead Road, Kingston 3.

Police report that shortly after 12:00 p.m., they responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of Excelsior High School. Upon arrival, Williams was found suffering from gunshot wounds at the school’s gate area.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting was carried out by a lone gunman who was on foot and armed with a handgun. Following the attack, the assailant reportedly entered a silver Toyota Axio motorcar and fled the scene.

Williams was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.

Detectives are continuing investigations into the incident as they work to establish a motive and identify the suspect involved.
