The Montego Hills police in St James are probing the circumstances leading to the shooting death of a man along Water Lilly Crescent in Norwood, St James, on Friday night, June 9.
The deceased has been identified as is 26-year-old Akeem Smith, of Albion Lane in the parish.
Reports by the police are that about 11:45pm, the common-law couple was driving home along Water Lilly Crescent in Norwood.
On reaching the vicinity of their house they were pounced upon by two men armed with handguns, who opened fire on the vehicle, hitting Smith multiple times.
The gunmen escaped in the area on foot , while Smith was taken to hospital and pronounced dead.
