One of Little London Quadruple Murder Suspects Killed by Police in Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland:  A man who the police say is one of the suspects in last week’s quadruple murder in Little London, was fatally shot by police during a gunbattle in Westmoreland on Monday, November 13.

The dead man has been identified as 38-year-old Leon Smith of Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

Police reports are that about 5:30 a.m., the police were conducting an operation in the Community of Grange Hill, in search of wanted men.

According to reports, the police went to a premises in the community and were met with heavy gunfire from a group of men.

A gunbattle ensued and after it subsided, Smith was later found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police allegedly retrieved a firearm from Smith.

The police stated that Smith was a suspect in the quadruple murder that occurred in Little London, Westmoreland last Thursday.

Three family members and a spouse were killed; 31-year-old mechanic Howard Humes, 23-year-old Shavane Humes, 33-year-old farmer Paulton Humes, otherwise called ‘Dwight’, and his spouse 25-year-old Keneisha Wilson, all of the Masemure Meadows Housing Scheme in Little London, Westmoreland.

The gunmen left the five-year-old son of Wilson and Paulton unharmed.

The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has commenced a probe into this fatal shooting.
