The Freeport police are now carrying out investigations surrounding the death of a man who was discovered, suffering from gunshot wounds while sitting in his car which was parked in the vicinity of the fisherman’s Beach, at Spring Gardens in St James.
The victim has so far been identified as Ricardo Hewitt, of a Poinciana Drive address in Pitfour, Granville.
Reports by the Freeport police are that about 4:00 p.m., several motorist and fishermen noticed Hewitt, who was sitting motionless in his silver Nissan Winroad motor car and alerted the police.
Upon the arrival of the lawmen, investigations revealed that Hewitt who was still buckled in by his seatbelt had multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, and was slumped around the steering wheel.
The police also revealed that the victim is a known licensed firearm holder, and it is believed that his attacker stole his licensed firearm.
