LeBron James has been suspended for one match for the first time in his career after clashing with Isaiah Stewart as the Los Angeles Lakers came from 17 points down to beat the Detroit Pistons 121-116 on Sunday, November 21.
LA’s James appeared to strike Stewart in the face as they battle for a rebound, will miss Tuesday’s game against the Knicks. Stewart is out for Detroit’s next two games.
The incident happened in the third quarter. Stewart then repeatedly had to be held back by team-mates and coaching staff as he tried to retaliate leaving him with a large cut near his right eye.
The ejection – which took place in the third quarter – was only the second of James’ 19-year NBA career.
Davis top-scored for the Lakers with 30 points and Russell Westbrook added 26.
