Montego Bay, St. James – Tragedy struck early Thursday morning when a man was fatally struck by a motor vehicle along the Flankers main road in Montego Bay, St. James. The incident occurred around 2:10 AM.
The deceased, identified as Markie Blake, a laborer from the Flankers community, was attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop following the collision.
Local residents quickly responded, rushing Blake to the Cornwall Regional Hospital. However, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities have launched a search to apprehend the driver responsible for the hit-and-run incident. The community remains in shock and is urging anyone with information to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.
