Kingston Native Killed in Domestic Dispute:Tragedy struck in Coral Springs, Florida, last Friday when a man originally from Kingston, Jamaica, was fatally shot amid an alleged domestic dispute.
The victim, identified as 48-year-old Stephen G Austin, worked as a BMW sales and leasing consultant.
According to reports, the dispute erupted at Austin’s residence in a Windsor Coral Springs apartment complex involving his wife and daughter. Allegedly, Austin intervened, leading to a confrontation with his stepson.
While it’s speculated that the stepson fatally shot Austin, Florida police have yet to officially confirm this. Investigators have stated that a male individual is cooperating in connection with the shooting, but his identity remains undisclosed.
As of now, no one has been officially arrested in connection with the incident. Known affectionately as ‘Neil’, Austin had previously worked with Stewart’s Automotive before immigrating to the US over a decade ago. He was an alumnus of Jamaica College and maintained strong ties with the school.
