Jamaica News, Kingston: JUTC Transit Bus Destroyed – A Jamaica Urban Transit company bus (JUTC) was destroyed by fire, which engulfed the vehicle in Half Way Tree, St Andrew, on Tuesday evening, May 14.
The Half Way Tree police reported that no one was injured during the fire. Reports are that shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, commuters in half way tree, saw smoke coming from the bus and raised an alarm. Immediately as the vehicle came to a halt it burst into flames, and commuters were sent scampering in fear that the vehicle might have exploded.
The fire department was summoned and upon their arrival, the firemen managed the extinguished the blaze. The fire department says they have not yet discovered the origin of the fire.
