St Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – JUTC Bus Killed Woman: A 57-year-old woman was killed by a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus on Windward Road, St. Andrew on Monday, July 17.
The woman has been identified as Esther Simpson.
Reports from the police information arm, the CCU, are that at about 8:20 p.m., Simpson, whose address was still not known up to press time, was crossing the roadway near the Holy Rosary Catholic Church when she was hit by a bus traveling towards Downtown Kingston.
Rollington Town Police are investigating the matter.
Cecil Thomas, communications manager for JUTC said that the driver of the bus has been taken off duty during the investigation.
