Judge Rules No Case to Answer for Soldiers Charged in 2010 Killing of Businessman Keith Clarke

Kingston, JamaicaSupreme Court Justice Dale Palmer ruled that the three soldiers charged with the 2010 murder of businessman Keith Clarke are free, concluding there is no case for them to answer. The decision, delivered Monday at Kingston’s Supreme Court, ends the case against Lance Corporal Greg Tinglin, Corporal Odel Buckley, and Private Arnold Henry.

The soldiers, who had been on trial since May, were initially accused in connection with Clarke’s death during a controversial security operation. After evaluating the prosecution’s case, Justice Palmer determined it lacked sufficient grounds for continuation. This ruling brings the long-standing case to a close, releasing the soldiers from further legal proceedings.
