JDF Soldier Killed in Early Morning Crash on Linstead Bypass

St Catherine, Jamaica – A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has died following a deadly crash along the Linstead Bypass in the early hours of Sunday, August 25.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Private Omari Genus, of Riversdale district, St Catherine.

Reports are that around 2:30 a.m., Private Genus was driving a Toyota Axio along the bypass when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which crashed violently along the roadway.

The car was extensively damaged, and Genus sustained severe injuries.

He was rushed to the Linstead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The Linstead Traffic Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
